Europe Trip 1 : London, UK

I finally got to Europe a few days ago. Internet is deceptively difficult to find around here. I miss everything back at home already! Here are a few quick journal entries from previous days:

London 1

Well, I finally arrived in London with no more delays. We got into the airport at around 6:30AM, so immigration only took around 30 mins. Ems had emailed me the directions to take and I got to the hotel by 8AM, which was actually 2 hours ahead of schedule. Woke up Ems and Wils and we went off to see London.London is a really charming city with all its quaint brick shops and all the historic buildings. We went and saw the Westminster Chapel, Big Ben, Parliament, Buckingham Palace, the Tower of London, and London bridge. I don’t think I will ever get used to the whole driving on the left thing. If there weren’t signs everywhere with “Look Left” and “Look Right,” I think I would already have been run over.

Matt, I saw a “Mind the Gap” sign, but there weren’t everywhere like I imagined. I only saw them a few times. The exchange rate between the dollar and the pound is so lopsided! It’s like paying double for everything. Imagine $8 Starbucks! Most of our money was spent on food and drinks.

Also, Internet was pretty impossible to get, so I haven’t been able to post up anything or even work! I did buy a sim card though. If you really need to reach me, my number is xxxxx xxxxxx. I believe the country code is 44.Anyhow, by the end of the day, I was beyond tired (I didn’t sleep on the plane) and my feet were killing me. We went back to the hotel and I just passed out.
