Hi! Bali-Hai.

Delicious food accompanied by a great view of the spectacular San Diego Harbor.

We went to visit a good friend in San Diego right before Christmas. He took us to a place called Bali-Hai. At first, I thought I heard “Valley High”. What? We are having dinner at a high school cafeteria? But, WOW! It was definitely no cafeteria!

As we entered the restaurant, there was a sign that guided us to the staircase.

Once upstairs, we could see THE VIEW! There were windows everywhere so any seat provided a great view of the harbor. The food? I had the Mahi-mahi dish. It was beyond delicious! Everything in the menu had a touch of Hawaii in them. They also had a kids menu that included dishes big enough for an adult. So, as you can see, I really enjoyed the food I ordered, the company we had, and of course…the view. If anyone of you is visiting San Diego, California anytime soon, don’t forget to visit this restaurant. And, don’t worry, it’s quite affordable.

1. Weirdest thing you have had for breakfast? * Deep fried salted-dried-fish with a lot of steamed rice because it was way too salty. 2. Most desperate meal you've ever had? * I remember 2 desperate moments. The first one, I dumped a pack of Lit'l Smokey's sausages, a cup of rice and 2 cups of water into the rice cooker. The second time, I put a piece of frozen chicken and poured a can of V8 into it, boiled and ate it. Of course, there are other moments when I just picked out frozen food and microwaved them. But, since I try my best to eat personally cooked meals, these were my most desperate moments. 3. When you eat too much, you... * I get horrible heartburn and my whole body swells up like a propane tank. Short, round and filled up! You don't want to know what happens after that...
