As promised, I picked up some more cream puffs from Beard Papas over the weekend and took some “better” pictures of the goodies. This week’s flavor was green tea, which my wife didn’t care for too much. With me being the green tea maniac that I am, I couldn’t pass it up! But I do have to admit, the green tea custard filling did taste a bit funky. Not in a bad way. It just wasn’t very sweet compared to the traditional vanilla filling. With Halloween and Thanksgiving not too far from now, I’m expecting that pumpkin flavor to show up any week now.
Here are the goodies!
Just your regular vanilla custard filled cream puff
No, it’s not mold! It’s green tea!
That’s some good eats right here. My stomach is making funny noises right now.
Cookie Puff with Vanilla custard filling. You can sort of see the ground vanilla.
The Eclair…a bit too sweet for my taste, but not bad if you like chocolate.
A half-dozen cost me about $12. I mixed and match (cookie puff, original puff & eclair), so there wasn’t a discount. Had I just ordered 6 original vanilla puffs, I’d be looking at about $10 plus tax. Not too bad. That’s like 2 Venti White Chocolate Mochas at Starbucks.
I’m pretty addicted to these things. It’s kind of like when “Pinkberry” showed up in our neighborhood. I was going there weekly. Dunno what they put in that tangy frozen yogurt, but it was quite addicting. I quickly realized it was costing me $10 for two frozen yogurts each visit, so I stopped going. I think I will limit my addiction to cream puff’s for the time being.

Hm… I didn’t expect them to look like these. Those in SG looked a little more Choux pastry-ish? And round?
They look nice and puffy. And lots of new flavours! Nice!!
See, I knew you wouldn’t mind them so much
Heehee. I think I might go again this week to see what they have as the flavor of the week. Wait til you see bakethekitty’s pics…you’ll drool all over your screen.
I have tried this cream puffs once and liked them. Great cream puff photos!
Thanks MyBugLife! It’s amazing what my tiny Canon SD630 can do sometimes.
I really like these cream puff because they use custard instead of whipped cream. Once you tried Papa’s Puffs, you can’t go back!
