Taiwanese Lunch Box

A nice piece of pork here!

These quick and easy meals can be had pretty much anywhere in Taiwan. They are typically homemade and packaged in a disposable wooden box, which is also home made. Quite an interesting way of putting it together I must say. Despite its size, the portions are just right; not too little, not too much.  Unlike the prepackaged lunches you find at convenience stores such as 7-11, these are fresh and you can taste it. No reheating needed and there’s a variety of side dishes to choose from. To top it off, a lunchbox like this will only set you back about $2.50 USD. I could probably live off this stuff everyday and not get bored.

Here we see some veggies, tofu, egg and bamboo shoots. You will find the rice under all of this.
